Le secret des Dix Plaies : de la gratitude envers le Domem jusqu'à la connaissance d'Hachem

א. Introduction : Hakarat Hatov et Kibboud Horim
Le devoir le plus important des enfants envers leurs parents, c'est la Hakarat Hatov — la reconnaissance du bien.
Car en fin de compte, nous sommes ici grâce à nos parents. Ils sont ceux qui nous ont amenés au monde.
« Trois partenaires dans l'homme : son père, sa mère et Hakadoch Baroukh Hou. »
On ne peut pas échapper à cette réalité. Alors comment lier ce concept de Hakarat Hatov avec la Paracha de la semaine ?
ב. Les Trois Premières Plaies : Qui les Fait ?
Dans cette Paracha commencent les Dix Plaies. Et on remarque quelque chose d'étonnant concernant les trois premières :

Pour chacune de ces plaies, Hachem dit à Moché : « Dis à Aharon... »
Moché et Aharon se tiennent ensemble, mais c'est Aharon qui frappe, pas Moché !
ג. Pourquoi Aharon et Non Moché ?
Nos Sages expliquent : à cause de la Hakarat Hatov !
Le Nil (דָּם et צְפַרְדֵּעַ)
Le Nil a protégé Moché bébé. Quand sa mère ne pouvait plus le cacher, elle l'a placé dans un panier sur le fleuve.
Le Nil a été « gentil » — il n'a pas noyé Moché Rabbénou.
La Terre (כִּנִּים)
Moché, à 20 ans, a tué l'Égyptien qui frappait un Hébreu. Il l'a enterré dans le sable.
La terre s'est « ouverte » pour l'aider à cacher le corps rapidement.
Hakarat Hatov : Il n'était pas convenable que Moché lève sa main pour frapper le Nil ou la terre qui lui avaient rendu service.
ד. Le Grand Enseignement : Du Domem à l'Homme
Vous vous demandez peut-être : le Nil et la Terre sont des Domem (inanimés) ! Qu'est-ce qu'ils ressentent ?
Domem, Tsoméa'h, 'Haï, Médaber — Inanimé, Végétal, Animal, Parlant (l'Homme)
L'eau et la terre sont au niveau le plus bas ! Qu'est-ce que ça change si Moché ou Aharon frappe ?
C'est précisément le message que la Torah veut nous enseigner :
Si nous savons respecter le Domem — ne pas être ingrat envers des choses qui ne ressentent rien...
...alors à plus forte raison (קַל וָחוֹמֶר) nous saurons respecter le 'Haï (l'animal) et le Médaber (l'être humain) !
Et encore plus certainement nos parents, à qui nous devons tant !
ה. Pharaon : « Qui est Hachem ? »
Revenons à la Paracha Chémot. Quand Moché et Aharon viennent devant Pharaon :
« כֹּה אָמַר ה׳ אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל שַׁלַּח אֶת עַמִּי »
« Ainsi parle Hachem, D.ieu d'Israël : Laisse partir Mon peuple ! »
Quelle est la réponse de Pharaon ?
« מִי ה׳ אֲשֶׁר אֶשְׁמַע בְּקֹלוֹ... לֹא יָדַעְתִּי אֶת ה׳ »
« Qui est Hachem pour que j'écoute Sa voix ? Je ne connais pas Hachem ! »
Il cherche dans son « Google »... Il ne trouve pas. « Désolé, je ne connais pas ! »
Les Dix Plaies viennent donc faire les présentations : « Tu veux savoir qui est Hachem ? Voici ! »
ו. La Progression : Du Sous-Sol Jusqu'au Ciel
Imaginez toute la réalité comme un graphique qui monte progressivement :

ז. Pharaon — Le Faux Dieu
Pharaon se considérait lui-même comme un dieu. Il disait :
« לִי יְאֹרִי וַאֲנִי עֲשִׂיתִנִי »
« Le Nil est à moi, et je me suis fait moi-même ! »
Il ne dit pas « j'ai fait le Nil » — car alors on lui demanderait : « Qui t'a fait, toi ? » Il prétend s'être créé lui-même !
Il allait même faire ses besoins dans le Nil en cachette, pour que personne ne sache qu'il a des besoins humains...
Les Bekhorot (premiers-nés) en Égypte étaient comme les prêtres du culte.
La dernière plaie frappe donc le niveau le plus « divin » selon eux — montrant qu'Hachem règne même sur ce niveau !
ח. Le Message : Hachem Règne Sur Tout
Voici le message commun à toutes les Dix Plaies :
Tu as demandé « Qui est Hachem ? »
Voici qui est Hachem : Il règne sur toute la nature, du plus bas (sous la terre) jusqu'au plus haut (le ciel et au-delà) !
Sur toute l'échelle de la Création, Hakadoch Baroukh Hou est le Maître.
ט. Dix Plaies, Dix Paroles, Dix Commandements
Quand on dit « Dix Plaies », cela nous rappelle immédiatement :
עֲשָׂרָה מַאֲמָרוֹת
Les Dix Paroles par lesquelles le monde a été créé
עֲשֶׂרֶת הַדִּבְּרוֹת

Il y a une correspondance entre ces trois « dizaines ». Et cela nous amène aussi aux...
עֶשֶׂר סְפִירוֹת — Les Dix Sefirot par lesquelles Hachem dirige le monde :
Kéter, 'Hokhma, Bina, 'Hessed, Guevoura, Tiféret, Netsa'h, Hod, Yessod, Malkhout
י. Le Secret de Tsefardéa : Yessod et Daat
Si on visualise les Sefirot, il y a un axe central : Daat — Tiféret — Yessod
Ces trois Sefirot sont alignées, et celui qui porte atteinte au Yessod (la Brit) porte aussi atteinte à la Daat.
צְפַרְדֵּעַ = צִפּוֹר + דֵּעָה
Tsefardéa = Tsipor (oiseau) + Déa (connaissance)
La grenouille (Tsefardéa) correspond au Yessod, qui est lié à la Daat.
C'est encodé dans le mot lui-même : צִפּוֹר דֵּעָה !
יא. Bo (בֹּא) = 3 — Les Trois Dernières Plaies
Notre Paracha (Vaéra) contient sept plaies. Les trois dernières sont dans la Paracha suivante : Bo.
בֹּא = 3
ב (2) + א (1) = 3
Le nom de la Paracha Bo (בֹּא) vaut 3 en guématria — correspondant aux trois dernières plaies : Arbé, 'Hoshekh, Makat Bekhorot.
Rien dans la Torah n'est écrit par hasard !
יב. אַהֲבַת חִנָּם — L'Amour Gratuit
De la Hakarat Hatov découle un principe encore plus grand : l'amour gratuit.
Si nous devons de la gratitude même au Domem...
Si nous devons honorer nos parents...
Alors nous devons aussi apprendre à aimer notre prochain — même sans raison apparente !
C'est le travail de notre génération : réparer la haine gratuite (שִׂנְאַת חִנָּם) qui a causé la destruction du Temple par l'amour gratuit (אַהֲבַת חִנָּם).
יג. 6 Actions pour Pratiquer l'Amour Gratuit
Voici comment mettre en pratique אַהֲבַת חִנָּם au quotidien :
1️⃣ Remercier Chaque Jour
Commence ta journée par Modé Ani avec kavana. Remercie Hachem, puis remercie les gens autour de toi. Un simple « merci » sincère peut illuminer la journée de quelqu'un.

Appelle tes parents aujourd'hui. Même un court appel pour prendre des nouvelles est un Kibboud Av vaEm. S'ils ne sont plus là, étudie Torah pour l'élévation de leur âme.

Avant de critiquer quelqu'un, cherche 70 excuses pour son comportement. Peut-être qu'il traverse une épreuve ? Peut-être qu'il ne savait pas ? דַּן לְכַף זְכוּת.

The secret of the Ten Plagues: from gratitude toward the inanimate to knowing Hashem
This lesson was given on the occasion of a Hazkara, לעילוי נשמת הנפטרת
א. Introduction: Hakarat Hatov and Kibbud Horim
The most important duty of children toward their parents is Hakarat Hatov — recognizing the good.
Because ultimately, we are here thanks to our parents. They are the ones who brought us into the world.
"Three partners in a person: his father, his mother, and Hakadosh Baruch Hu."
We cannot escape this reality. So how can we connect the concept of Hakarat Hatov with this week's Parasha?
ב. The First Three Plagues: Who Performs Them?
In this Parasha, the Ten Plagues begin. And we notice something surprising about the first three:

For each of these plagues, Hashem tells Moshe: "Tell Aharon..."
Moshe and Aharon stand together, but it is Aharon who strikes, not Moshe!
ג. Why Aharon and Not Moshe?
Our Sages explain: because of Hakarat Hatov!
The Nile (דָּם and צְפַרְדֵּעַ)
The Nile protected baby Moshe. When his mother could no longer hide him, she placed him in a basket on the river.
The Nile was "kind" — it didn't drown Moshe Rabbeinu.
The Earth (כִּנִּים)
Moshe, at age 20, killed the Egyptian who was beating a Hebrew. He buried him in the sand.
The earth "opened" to help him hide the body quickly.
Hakarat Hatov: It was not fitting for Moshe to raise his hand to strike the Nile or the earth that had served him.
ד. The Great Teaching: From Domem to Man
You might wonder: the Nile and the Earth are Domem (inanimate)! What do they feel?
Domem, Tzomeach, Chai, Medaber — Inanimate, Vegetable, Animal, Speaking (Man)
Water and earth are at the lowest level! What difference does it make if Moshe or Aharon strikes?
This is precisely the message the Torah wants to teach us:
If we know how to respect the Domem — not being ungrateful toward things that feel nothing...
...then how much more so (קַל וָחוֹמֶר) will we know how to respect the Chai (animal) and the Medaber (human being)!
And even more certainly our parents, to whom we owe so much!
ה. Pharaoh: "Who is Hashem?"
Let's return to Parashat Shemot. When Moshe and Aharon come before Pharaoh:
"כֹּה אָמַר ה׳ אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל שַׁלַּח אֶת עַמִּי"
"Thus says Hashem, G-d of Israel: Let My people go!"
What is Pharaoh's response?
"מִי ה׳ אֲשֶׁר אֶשְׁמַע בְּקֹלוֹ... לֹא יָדַעְתִּי אֶת ה׳"
"Who is Hashem that I should listen to His voice? I do not know Hashem!"
He searches in his "Google"... He doesn't find anything. "Sorry, I don't know!"
The Ten Plagues therefore come to make introductions: "You want to know who Hashem is? Here!"
ו. The Progression: From Underground to Sky
Imagine all of reality as a graph rising progressively:

ז. Pharaoh — The False God
Pharaoh considered himself a god. He said:
"לִי יְאֹרִי וַאֲנִי עֲשִׂיתִנִי"
"The Nile is mine, and I made myself!"
He doesn't say "I made the Nile" — because then he'd be asked: "Who made you?" He claims to have created himself!
He even went to relieve himself in the Nile secretly, so no one would know he had human needs...
The Bekhorot (firstborn) in Egypt were like the priests of the cult.
The last plague therefore strikes the most "divine" level according to them — showing that Hashem rules even over that level!
ח. The Message: Hashem Rules Over All
Here is the common message of all Ten Plagues:
You asked "Who is Hashem?"
Here is who Hashem is: He rules over all of nature, from the lowest (underground) to the highest (the sky and beyond)!
Over the entire scale of Creation, Hakadosh Baruch Hu is the Master.
ט. Ten Plagues, Ten Utterances, Ten Commandments
When we say "Ten Plagues," it immediately reminds us of:
עֲשָׂרָה מַאֲמָרוֹת
The Ten Utterances through which the world was created
עֲשֶׂרֶת הַדִּבְּרוֹת
The Ten Commandments
There is a correspondence between these three "tens." And this also leads us to the...
עֶשֶׂר סְפִירוֹת — The Ten Sefirot through which Hashem directs the world:
Keter, Chochma, Bina, Chesed, Gevura, Tiferet, Netzach, Hod, Yesod, Malchut
י. The Secret of Tzefardea: Yesod and Daat
If we visualize the Sefirot, there is a central axis: Daat — Tiferet — Yesod
These three Sefirot are aligned, and one who damages the Yesod (the Brit) also damages the Daat.
צְפַרְדֵּעַ = צִפּוֹר + דֵּעָה
Tzefardea = Tzipor (bird) + Dea (knowledge)
The frog (Tzefardea) corresponds to Yesod, which is connected to Daat.
It is encoded in the word itself: צִפּוֹר דֵּעָה!
יא. Bo (בֹּא) = 3 — The Three Last Plagues
Our Parasha (Va'era) contains seven plagues. The last three are in the next Parasha: Bo.
בֹּא = 3
ב (2) + א (1) = 3
The name of the Parasha Bo (בֹּא) equals 3 in gematria — corresponding to the three last plagues: Arbeh, Choshech, Makat Bechorot.
Nothing in the Torah is written by chance!
יב. אַהֲבַת חִנָּם — Gratuitous Love
From Hakarat Hatov flows an even greater principle: gratuitous love.
If we owe gratitude even to the Domem...
If we must honor our parents...
Then we must also learn to love our fellow — even without apparent reason!
This is our generation's work: to repair the gratuitous hatred (שִׂנְאַת חִנָּם) that caused the Temple's destruction through gratuitous love (אַהֲבַת חִנָּם).
יג. 6 Actions to Practice Gratuitous Love
Here is how to put אַהֲבַת חִנָּם into daily practice:
1️⃣ Give Thanks Every Day
Start your day by saying Modeh Ani with intention. Thank Hashem, then thank the people around you. A simple sincere "thank you" can brighten someone's day.

Call your parents today. Even a short call to check in is Kibbud Av vaEm. If they are no longer here, study Torah for the elevation of their souls.

Before criticizing someone, look for 70 excuses for their behavior. Maybe they're going through a trial? Maybe they didn't know? דַּן לְכַף זְכוּת.

א. הקדמה: הכרת הטוב וכיבוד הורים
החובה הכי חשובה של ילדים כלפי הוריהם היא הכרת הטוב.
כי בסופו של דבר, אנחנו פה בזכות ההורים שלנו. הם אלה שהביאו אותנו לעולם.
« שלושה שותפים באדם: אביו, אמו והקדוש ברוך הוא. »
אי אפשר לברוח מהמציאות הזו. אז איך אפשר לקשר את הרעיון של הכרת הטוב עם פרשת השבוע?
ב. שלוש המכות הראשונות: מי עושה אותן?
בפרשה הזאת מתחילות עשר המכות. ומשהו מפתיע בשלוש הראשונות:

משה ואהרון עומדים יחד, אבל אהרון הוא שמכה, לא משה!
ג. למה אהרון ולא משה?
חז״ל מסבירים: משום הכרת הטוב!
היאור (דָּם וְצְפַרְדֵּעַ)
היאור הגן על משה התינוק. כשאמו לא יכלה להסתיר אותו יותר, היא שמה אותו בתיבה על הנהר.
היאור היה « נחמד » — הוא לא הטביע את משה רבנו.
האדמה (כִּנִּים)
משה, בגיל 20, הרג את המצרי שהיכה איש עברי. הוא טמן אותו בחול.
האדמה « נפתחה » לעזור לו להסתיר את הגופה במהירות.
הכרת הטוב: לא נאה ולא יאה שמשה ירים את ידו להכות את היאור או את האדמה שעשו לו שירות.
ד. הלימוד הגדול: מהדומם לאדם
אתם שואלים: היאור והאדמה הם דומם! מה הם מרגישים?
דומם, צומח, חי, מדבר
מים ואדמה הם בדרגה הכי נמוכה! מה זה משנה אם משה או אהרון מכה?
בדיוק זה המסר שהתורה רוצה ללמד אותנו:
אם אנחנו יודעים לכבד את הדומם — לא להיות כפויי טובה כלפי דברים שלא מרגישים כלום...
...אז קל וחומר שנדע לכבד את החי ואת המדבר (האדם)!
ובוודאי ובוודאי את ההורים שלנו, שאנחנו חייבים להם כל כך הרבה!
ה. פרעה: « מי ה׳? »
נחזור לפרשת שמות. כשמשה ואהרון באים לפני פרעה:
« כֹּה אָמַר ה׳ אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל שַׁלַּח אֶת עַמִּי »
מה התגובה של פרעה?
« מִי ה׳ אֲשֶׁר אֶשְׁמַע בְּקֹלוֹ... לֹא יָדַעְתִּי אֶת ה׳ »
הוא מחפש ב« גוגל » שלו... לא מוצא. « מצטער, לא מכיר! »
עשר המכות באות אפוא לעשות היכרות: « אתה רוצה לדעת מי ה׳? הנה! »
ו. ההתקדמות: מתחת לאדמה עד השמיים
דמיינו את כל המציאות כגרף שעולה בהדרגה:

ז. פרעה — האל המזויף
פרעה החשיב את עצמו לאלוהים. הוא אמר:
« לִי יְאֹרִי וַאֲנִי עֲשִׂיתִנִי »
הוא לא אומר « אני עשיתי את היאור » — כי אז היו שואלים אותו: « מי עשה אותך? » הוא טוען שהוא ברא את עצמו!
הוא אפילו היה הולך לעשות את הצרכים שלו ביאור בסתר, כדי שאף אחד לא ידע שיש לו צרכים אנושיים...
הבכורות במצרים היו כמו הכהנים של הפולחן.
המכה האחרונה פוגעת אפוא ברמה הכי « אלוקית » לפי דעתם — להראות שהקב״ה שולט גם על הרמה הזו!
ח. המסר: הקב״ה שולט בכל
הנה המסר המשותף לכל עשר המכות:
שאלת « מי ה׳? »

עֶשֶׂר סְפִירוֹת — עשר הספירות שבהן הקב״ה מנהיג את העולם:
כתר, חכמה, בינה, חסד, גבורה, תפארת, נצח, הוד, יסוד, מלכות
י. סוד הצפרדע: יסוד ודעת
אם מדמיינים את הספירות, יש ציר מרכזי: דעת — תפארת — יסוד
שלוש הספירות האלה מיושרות, ומי שפוגם ביסוד (הברית) פוגם גם בדעת.
צְפַרְדֵּעַ = צִפּוֹר + דֵּעָה
הצפרדע מתאימה ליסוד, שקשור לדעת.
זה מוצפן במילה עצמה: צִפּוֹר דֵּעָה!
יא. בֹּא = 3 — שלוש המכות האחרונות
הפרשה שלנו (וארא) מכילה שבע מכות. שלוש האחרונות בפרשה הבאה: בֹּא.
בֹּא = 3
ב (2) + א (1) = 3
שם הפרשה בֹּא שווה 3 בגימטריה — כנגד שלוש המכות האחרונות: ארבה, חושך, מכת בכורות.

לפני שאתה מבקר מישהו, תחפש 70 תירוצים להתנהגותו. אולי הוא עובר משהו קשה? אולי הוא לא ידע? דַּן לְכַף זְכוּת.
