Justice and Tzedakah — Parameter 199
“A world without justice cannot stand for an instant.” The course starts from the commandment צדק צדק תרדוף (Deuteronomy 16:20).
The 15 non-metallic elements divide into 5 + 10; the 5 halogens (ה) total 199 electrons.
According to the course, the Divine Name appears 199 times at letter skips in the Torah, and צדקה = 199: Tzedakah unifies the Name.
Teaching of our Sages: a world without justice cannot stand for an instant. The 15 non-metallic elements form the “brain” of creation; they divide into 5 + 10, and the 5 is linked to divine justice.
“Justice, justice shall you pursue” (Deuteronomy 16:20). The commentators explain the repetition: justice must be pursued by just means. “The end justifies the means” is totally rejected by the Torah.
15 = 5 + 10. The 5 halogens correspond to the letter ה (5), which created this world. They form the group VII B column; all form diatomic molecules, react with metals to form salts, and carry a charge of 1-.
Fluorine F 9 · Chlorine Cl 17 · Bromine Br 35 · Iodine I 53 · Astatine At 85.
The course gives a method: search the whole Torah for the Divine Name (יהוה) at a regular letter skip. The upper world is articulated in 4 worlds, each animated by a formulation of the Name.
Ideas (Atzilut), י, 72: 55 times · Creation (Briah), ה, 63: 48 times · Formation (Yetzirah), ו, 45: 49 times · Action (Assiyah), ה, 52: 47 times.
According to the course, the Name is seeded in the Torah as many times as it is present in the four upper worlds, in measure of a single mitzvah: Tzedakah.
צדק (Tzedek): integral justice, without compassion or magnanimity. צדקה (Tzedakah): justice softened by leniency; the final letter ה, that of kingship, softens it. That is why, according to the course, it can save from death the one who performs it.
“Tzedakah saves from death” (Proverbs 10).
The Ari zal teaches that Tzedakah unifies the Name of G-d. Four elements: the round coin = י; the rich person’s hand (5 fingers) = ה; the outstretched, straight arm = ו; the poor person’s hand (5 fingers) = ה.
According to the course, it is thanks to this mitzvah that Israel exists on the land. Proof given: the contract between Issachar and Zebulun. Zebulun provides for all of Issachar’s needs, while Issachar studies Torah day and night; they share all profits equally.
The course links three dimensions: physically, the 5 halogens have 199 electrons; metaphysically, the Name appears 199 times in the Torah in code; practically, צדקה = 199 and Tzedakah unifies the Name.
“As it is written in the metaphysical world, so it will be in the physical world.” Justice and Tzedakah are the pillars that sustain the world.
