The 15th and 71st Psalms
According to the course, King David wrote two psalms reflecting the two dimensions of creation: the 71st (71 metallic elements, positive charge) and the 15th (15 non-metallic elements, negative charge).
Together, 71 + 15 = 86 = אלקים. Psalm 15 has, according to the course, 5 verses (letter ה) and 55 words (cumulative total from 1 to 10).
King David, the nation’s singer par excellence, composed the Tehillim with divine mathematical precision. According to the course, two psalms, the 15th and the 71st, reflect the cosmic structure of creation: 71 and 15.
According to the course, it is a vibrant prayer about David’s enemies, who want to kill him and have said he is condemned to death. It stands in the 71st position.
This proportion of 71 positively charged elements represents the 71 metallic elements (giving), the 71 sages of the Sanhedrin, the masculine, active, giving side. This psalm speaks of positive forces against positive forces: men against men, those who do not accept the established divine hierarchy, rebellion against the divine order among men. Just as the 71 metallic elements must accept their hierarchy in creation.
According to the course, this psalm represents the receptive side (the 15 non-metallic elements, negative charge) and speaks of the qualities needed to enter the world of eternity. It stands in the 15th position.
Structure: 5 verses (the letter ה = 5, with which the physical world was created); 55 words (cumulative value of 10: 1 + 2 + … + 10 = 55, the celestial hierarchy, the 10 spheres, government of the upper world created by the letter י).
Qualities taught: to be hidden and modest, like the feminine nature; to receive divine commands; to be faithful to one’s Creator. According to the course, to be a “son of the World to Come” (בן העולם הבא), one must adopt the nature of woman: receptive, modest, faithful.
Psalm 71: positive charge (+), 71 metallic elements, masculine, active, giving; theme: struggle, domination, hierarchy; message: prayer against enemies who reject the divine order.
Psalm 15: negative charge (−), 15 non-metallic elements, feminine, passive, receptive; theme: modesty, reception, faithfulness; message: qualities to enter eternity.
According to the course, King David, through divine wisdom, placed these two psalms exactly at positions 15 and 71 to teach all generations the fundamental structure of creation: the active forces (71) and the receptive forces (15) together form the complete Divine Name (86) and universal harmony.
