The 15 Elements at the Astro-Physical Level
At the astro-physical level, the Moon’s revolution around the Earth offers 15 faces.
The course compares the two luminaries (Sun and Moon; man and woman) and notes that the Heavens, שמים = 15 × 26 = 390.
According to the course, another aspect of the 15 fundamental elements appears in the Moon’s cosmic revolution around the Earth: each passing day offers a new aspect of the Moon, i.e. 15 different faces, from day 1 to day 15.
At the astral level, two luminaries created on the 4th day: a great one, the Sun, and a small one, the Moon. At the biological level, two luminaries created on the 6th day: man and woman.
Parallels, according to the course: the Sun is active, man is active and giving; the Moon is passive and receptive, woman is passive and receptive; the Sun has no periodicity, man has no biological renewal; the Moon has a period of 29 days, woman an analogous period; the Moon is linked to water (71% of the Earth), woman to the water of the mikveh.
The Moon makes its 15 revolutions in time; in space, its domain is called the Heavens, שמים in Hebrew.
Teaching of Rashi, according to the course: the word שמים is the assembly of two words, אש + מים, fire + water; or שם מים, “there, water.”
15 = יה, the 15 fundamental elements; 26 = יהוה, the Divine Name; 390 = שמים, the Heavens.
The Moon shows 15 faces; parallel Sun/Moon ↔ man/woman; lunar period of 29 days ↔ female period; Moon linked to water (71%) ↔ woman at the mikveh; the Heavens (שמים) = 15 × 26 = 390.
According to the course, the 15 fundamental elements permeate all creation up to the celestial spheres.
