The Road Signs of the End of Days
How to know where we stand on the road

Someone travelling from Haifa to Jerusalem knows he is drawing near thanks to the signs along the road.

Did the Creator leave such signs in history? The Rav answered: yes.

One he quoted: “We knew when the Mashiah would come: when we would see war between the Arabs and the West.”

1 The question of the road

A man travels from Haifa to Jerusalem. How does he know he is approaching Jerusalem? By the road signs. With signs, you know where you stand on the road.

The Rav then asked: did the Creator leave us road signs, so that we might know where we stand in history, and whether we are nearing the end of days?

His answer: yes. And he gave a few of them.
2 One sign he quoted
“We knew when the Mashiah would come: when we would see war between the Arabs and the West. In that period, the Mashiah comes.”

The Rav set no date. He read a marker as one reads a sign: not the hour of arrival, but the distance still to go.
