The Two Courses

Through wars (Zechariah 14) or through peace (Zechariah 9)

The Two Courses
Through wars (Zechariah 14) or through peace (Zechariah 9)

In all the prophets there is a twofold course of the end of days.

Through wars (Zechariah 14) if the people of Israel do not return to the Torah: Jerusalem is taken, and the wars of Gog and Magog run their full course.

Through peace (Zechariah 9) if the people of Israel do teshuva: the King comes humble, on a donkey, and speaks peace to the nations.

The Rav read in the tsunami of 2004, in a cancelled attack and in hurricanes the signs of Zechariah 9.

According to Rav Israel, the merit of Israel is so great that the wars of Gog and Magog will probably not take place.

📖 Read the lesson
1 Two possibilities

In all the prophets there is a twofold course of the end of days:

Through wars — Zechariah 14. They come upon Jerusalem. Much blood. The city is taken. The wars of Gog and Magog in full. If the people of Israel do not return to the Torah.
Through peace — Zechariah 9. The King comes humble, on a donkey. He speaks peace to the nations. No war. All goes well. If the people of Israel do teshuva.

We never knew which it would be… until now.

2 The sign of the tsunami

In Zechariah 9 (the path of peace), just before the arrival of the King-Messiah, it is written:

“Those cities, proud of their wealth… I will strike them by the sea. I will make the sea rise over those cities. I will take their wealth and swallow them up.”

The tsunami of 2004: cities of Asia — rich, proud, full of idolatry — were swallowed up by the sea.

This verse is found in Zechariah 9, the chapter of the Messiah who comes through peace.
3 What happened

At Rosh Hashana, the Americans were to attack Iran. A strategic point was not controlled. The war was cancelled.

Instead, America was struck by hurricanes. America was neutralized.

The course of the end of days has been changed. The West has been blocked. Iran is waking up but attacks differently. Everything has been shortened. The wars of Gog and Magog are being avoided.
4 Why this change?

Rav Israel said:

“The merit of the people of Israel is much greater, even since the Shoah. The wars of Gog and Magog will probably not take place, because there is a very great merit in the people of Israel.”

There has been a turn of events. The Messiah comes through peace, not through wars!

5 What the lesson retains
Zechariah 14 (wars): avoided thanks to merit. Zechariah 9 (peace): this is what is happening. The tsunami, the hurricanes: signs of Zechariah 9. The Messiah arrives through peace!

Thanks to the Torah and the teshuva of the people of Israel.
