The Paracha opens with a surprising command Hashem gives Moshe.

"Hashem said to Moshe: Come to Pharaoh."

"For I have hardened his heart... so that I may place My signs within him."

The Zohar reveals that Hashem takes Moshe through the spiritual worlds, world after world, until reaching Pharaoh's celestial root.

In the language of the Torah, Tanin means serpent (Nachash), not crocodile. Proof: Moshe's staff cast down becomes a Tanin, then Hashem tells him to seize the Nachash by its tail — the two words are synonymous. The Tanin Hagadol is the primordial serpent, the Sitra Achra, the source of all evil since Adam's sin.

Moshe had the courage to face Pharaoh's ministers, but he feared the Tanin Hagadol himself.

To grasp this fear, one must locate Pharaoh within the human being, who is built according to the ten Sefirot: Chochmah, Binah, Da'at, Chesed, Gevurah, Tiferet...

Moshe Rabbeinu has his root in Da'at — the cerebellum, at the back of the head; he is the one who gives Israel the "Da'at Torah."

Hashem reassures Moshe: we are going to reprogram Pharaoh's control panel. The word פַּרְעֹה is made of four letters: פ - ר - ע - ה.

The word אֹתֹתַי can be read "Ot Otai" — two letters, those of בֹּא: the ב and the א. Applying the substitutions to פַּרְעֹה — ע becomes א, פ becomes ב — yields אַרְבֶּה, the locust!

Moshe warned Pharaoh eight times; Arbeh, the locust, is the 8th plague. The Name of Hashem (יהוה) equals 26; 26 × 8 = 208.

And אַרְבֶּה = א(1) + ר(200) + ב(2) + ה(5) = 208. The locust is thus eight times the Name of Hashem.

We place the Tefillin shel Rosh, and their knot sits exactly on the nape — the very place where Pharaoh resides, the Oref Hé, the Sitra Achra.

The Luz bone, indestructible, from which the resurrection of the dead will begin, lies precisely in this same nape — where the serpent of Gan Eden caused Chava to sin and brought death into the world.
